Welcome

Linda Babao

My body of work represents anything pleasing to me in particular Australian flora, fauna and landscapes. My inspirations have been drawn from the colours of the remote places in which I have lived, being Far North Queensland, Groote Eylandt – Northern Territory and Tom Price Western Australia.

Most of my formative years were spent painting along side my father, memories I cherish and reflect on as I paint today. I have had many years of private art tuition but working and family took priority and I didn’t pick up a brush again until my husband and I were living in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and our 4 boys were grown up.

In 2005 I joined and cofounded Pilbara Artists Coming Together ( PACT) and curated the Pilbara Unlimited Art Exhibitions for the next 10 years.

My preference is to use acrylic on stretched canvas but I am now experimenting with oils, pastels, inks and water colours, as the artist mood demands.
